The low pressure area will reach Madhya Pradesh in the form of depression. Due to its effect, heavy to very heavy rains may occur in southern Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, northern Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat and southern Rajasthan. There is a possibility of floods in Gujarat once again. Western Rajasthan and western districts of Gujarat will remain dry during the next few days. Good rains may also occur in northeastern states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.

1500 rupees will be given every month, women of this state will get benefit

Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana

Many schemes are being run by the government for the empowerment of women. In this episode, the Maharashtra government has started a beneficial scheme for the women of its state. The Maharashtra government has started the ‘Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’ under which about 1 crore women across the state will be given assistance up to Rs 1500 per month. Let us tell you that this scheme is being started on the lines of the Ladli Bahina Yojana already running in Madhya Pradesh.

Giving information about the ‘Chief Minister Manjhi Ladki Bahin Yojana’, the Chief Minister of the state Eknath Shinde said that “This scheme will work as a protection for the women of the state. Therefore, this scheme has been linked to the holy festival of Raksha Bandhan.” He has also said that “This scheme for women will not be temporary but will continue forever.”

Let us tell you that under this scheme, women of 21 to 65 years of age in Maharashtra will be given assistance up to Rs 1500 per month. Here it is to be noted that the benefit of this scheme can be availed by those women who are financially weak and whose family’s annual income is not more than 5 lakhs.

This insect invades all stages of the maize crop. Normally, it attacks the leaves of maize, but in case of more outbreaks, it also damages the corn. Larvae attack the upper part of the maize plant or the soft leaves, small holes are seen on the leaves of the affected plant.

How to Identify Fall Armyworms?

  • They are green, pink, brown, or black in colour.

  • Between their eyes, a white colour pattern like the letter Y inverted English is made.

  • They have trapezoid pattern spots on each segment of their body.

Control

  • ProfeNova Super (Profenofos 40 % + Cypermethrin 04 % EC)@ 400 ml/Acre,

  • Emanova (Emamectin Benzoate 5 % Sg) @ 100gm/acre, Cover (Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 % W/W Sc) @60 ml/Acre +  Bave Curb (Beauveria bassiana) @ 250 gm/acre.

A low pressure area has formed over West Bengal which will move towards Central India as a depression within three or four days. During the next few days, many districts of West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Lakshadweep will receive good rainfall. There is a possibility of light to moderate rainfall in the mountains but very light rainfall will occur in eastern Rajasthan including Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Most areas of western Rajasthan and Gujarat will face drought. Western districts of Punjab and Haryana will also remain dry.

  • Moist weather and heavy rains are favourable for the development of the disease. Most outbreaks of this disease can be traced to heavy rains in the region.

  • Small, brown, water-soaked, circular spots surrounded by a yellow halo appear on infected leaves.

  • Leaf infection on older plants occurs mostly on older leaves and can cause severe defoliation.

  • Most of the symptoms appear on green fruits. First appear as small, water-soaked spots that later become larger.

  • The centres of these lesions become irregular, light brown and slightly sunken with a rough, scaly surface.

  • Ripe fruits are not susceptible to this disease. The surface of the seed becomes contaminated with bacteria if it remains on the surface of the seed for some time.

  • To protect the crop from this disease, use Monas-curb (Pseudomonas fluorescens 1% WP) @ 250 gm/acre.

Monsoon remains weak in many states. During the last 24 hours, good rains have occurred in East Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal as well as some parts of Uttar Pradesh. Monsoon remains weak in all the rest of the states of the country. A new low pressure area has formed over Orissa and West Bengal, due to which heavy rains can occur in Orissa, Chhattisgarh, eastern Madhya Pradesh and south-eastern Uttar Pradesh. Rain activities can increase once again in the mountains, be careful.

  • Larvae of Gonocephalum are attracted to germinating seeds. The larvae damage the seeds and the developing roots and shoots. Larvae scrape away at least part of the seed coat and feed on the kernel and cotyledons.

  • Adult Gonocephalum destroys emerging seedlings by feeding on the cotyledon leaves, on the growing tip, or by ‘ring barking’ the stem at ground level.

  • Adult Gonocephalum are active on the soil surface and tend to damage dicotyledonous crops more severely than monocots.

  • This insect eats newly developed seeds in soybean pods and cuts the pods.

  • To control this pest, spray LamaNova (Lambda-cyhalothrin 04.90% CS) @ 200-250 ml/acre or Tracer Spinosad 45% SC @ 75 ml/acre.
