Measures for identification and control of stem borer pests in paddy crops

Stem borer: The larval stage of this insect is harmful. First, after hatching, the larvae enter the stem by piercing the leaves of the central buds and destroying the central part. which is known as the ‘dead heart’. When the outbreak occurs in the panicle stage, the earhead becomes white by drying. By pulling the central part, it comes off easily.

Control Measures:-

  •  For its control, take a spray of Lancer Gold (Acephate 50% + Imidacloprid 1.8% SP) 400 gm or SUPER D (Chlorpyrifos 50 % + Cypermethrin 05 % EC) @ 3OO ML + Silico Maxx @ 50 ml per acre at the rate of 150 to 200 liters of water.

  • Or apply caldan (Cartap Hydrochloride 4% GR) @ 8 kg per acre evenly in the field.

  • For biological control, spray Briged B (BEAUVERIA BASSIANA 1.15% WP) @1 kg/acre @ 150-200 liters of water.

Lumpy skin disease became fatal for animals, grant released for rescue

During the rainy season, animals get a lot of infectious diseases. Many of these diseases are easily controlled. However, there are many diseases whose infection spreads rapidly in animals. At present, one such disease is proving fatal for animals. The name of this disease is ‘Lumpy Skin Disease’.

Symptoms of Lumpy Skin Disease

In this disease, thick lumps start forming on the animal’s body. Especially this infection is more around the head, neck, and genitals of the body. If not treated on time, these lumps grow and become wounds. Along with this, the animals get a high fever. Due to this disease, animals also stop giving milk or sometimes death also occurs. Cow and buffalo are more infected by this disease.

It is necessary to protect animals from disease

First, keep the sick animal separate from the rest of the healthy animals. After this, immediately show the animal to the vet for treatment. At the same time, it is being advised by the veterinary hospital not to let the animals roam outside unnecessarily.

Grant for treatment

The Rajasthan government is giving grants to save animals from this ‘Lumpy Skin Disease’ becoming deadly. In this episode, the state government has already released one lakh rupees each to each district of the state to buy essential emergency medicines. Along with this, 50-50 thousand rupees have been provided to polyclinics.

Apart from this, state medical teams and teams from neighboring districts are being sent to the more affected places for immediate treatment of animals. In such a situation, it is necessary for the livestock owners to take special care of their animals, so that they do not fall into the grip of this deadly disease.

Causes and prevention measures to fall flowers and fruits in the cotton crop

Falling of flower buds in cotton leads to a sharp drop in yield. The reason for this is as follows –

  • Lack of pollination

Pollination may fail due to various mechanisms, and pollination may fail due to lack of pollinator, or adverse environment.

  • Nutritional deficiencies

Many times the plant does not get nutrients in the right amount, due to which flowers and fruits are not able to develop fully and fall.It is very important for the plant to get sulphur , boron, calcium, magnesium etc.

  • Lack of water / moisture :

Due to lack of sufficient water, plants are unable to absorb nutrients from the soil through their roots, Due to which there is a lack of many types of elements necessary for the growth of flowers, and it starts falling.

  • pests and diseases

Flowers start falling due to the attack of various types of insects and microorganisms in plants.

Measures to prevent fruit and flower drop

    • Nutrient Spraying: Nutrients should be sprayed from time to time in the plants. Major and minor eg – boron, calcium, magnesium etc.

    • Irrigation: According to the need, irrigation should be done in the crops at a fixed interval so that sufficient amount of moisture is maintained, keep in mind that excessive irrigation can also be harmful.

    • Weeding: Weeding and other intercultural work should be done from time to time in the cotton crop ,  so that the field remains free from weeds. It is necessary to use well-decomposed manure or vermicompost from time to time.

    • Pest control: Insects and disease cause damage in large quantities in crops, they should be treated from time to time in consultation with agricultural experts.

    • Maintaining the balance of hormones: In a normal crop, more damage is also caused due to hormonal imbalance. So maintain the balance of hormones. ex . Spraying of  Nova maxx (GIBBERELLIC ACID 0.001%) @ 300 ml per acre, @ 150 to 200 liter of water .

  • Use of pollinator

For the pollination of these crops, it is necessary to have bees or other insects, not to do any kind of spraying or other agricultural work in the field during the presence of these insects. Due to this, the work of pollination is done easily and on time.

Cultivation of these 5 trees will earn lakhs

The central and state governments are running many schemes with the aim of increasing the income of the farmers. With the help of which farmers are benefiting a lot. However, the farmers themselves should also focus on increasing their income. For this, it is necessary to select crops with high demand in the market for cultivation, so that more profit can be earned at less cost. Through today’s article, you will know about 5 such trees, which after planting once, you can earn lakhs of rupees sitting at home for years.

Sandalwood tree

The demand of sandalwood remains in the market all the time. Its cost of one kg of wood is around 27 thousand rupees. If seen according to this, farmers can earn big money by planting trees.

Teak trees

Teak wood is also sold very expensive. Crores of rupees can be earned by cultivating teak on one acre of land. Let us tell you that the price of a 12-year-old teak tree in the market is 25 to 27 thousand rupees.

Gamhar tree

After teak, the wood of Gamhar tree is considered good. Sandy loam soil is good for its cultivation. About 500 plants can be planted in one acre of land. Which costs about 40 to 50 thousand rupees to install. However, once the saplings are planted, bumper earnings can be made from them for years.

Eucalyptus tree

Eucalyptus is also known as a white tree. This wood is also in great demand in the markets. Talking about its market price, the price of eucalyptus is Rs.6 per kg. From its cultivation, farmers can earn lakhs of rupees in 4 to 5 years.

Mahogany tree

The special thing about mahogany wood is that water does not have much effect on it. In this way, its wood is more durable. Apart from this, medicinal properties are also found in mahogany seeds. Its leaves are used as manure. In such a situation, bumper profits can be earned by planting mahogany trees.
