How to prepare onion nursery

    • Onions are sown in the nursery before being transplanted in the main field.
    • Dimensions of Nursery beds should be 3’x10’ and 10-15 cm in height while keeping a distance of about 70 cm between the two beds.
    • When onion nursery is being prepared, the ease of weeding, irrigation should be kept in mind.
    • In areas of heavy soil, the height of the bed should be kept high enough to avoid the problem of waterlogging.
    • Before sowing, treat onion seeds with CARBENDAZIM 12% + MANCOZEB 63% @ 2.5gram/ kg seed or CARBOXIN 17.5%+ THIRAM 17.5% @ 2.5gram / kg seed.
    • Soil treatment of nursery is very necessary before nursery sowing treatment is done for prevention of soil borne diseases. For this use FIPRONIL 0.3% GR @ 10 kg / nursery and TRICHODERMA VIRIDE @ 25 gram / nursery and seaweed + amino + Mycorrhiza @ 25gram / nursery

For the last several days, there has been continuous rains in many states of the country, which has made life difficult. Several regions of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh are also receiving rains. After the rain in the mountainous regions of Uttarakhand, the water level of the rivers has started increasing. For this reason, the Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of rain on 14 August in Uttarakhand.

Apart from Uttarakhand, the possibility of heavy rains is also being expressed by the Meteorological Department. Apart from this, the Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of torrential rain in most of the states on Thursday, while there may be light rain and thunderstorm in some places.

Looking at the seasonal forecast for the next 24 hours, it is expected that in Gujarat, East Rajasthan, Konkan Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Andhra Pradesh and parts of Telangana Light to moderate rains with some heavy showers are expected.
