Now Get Free Insurance for Cows and Buffaloes – Apply Before 11 February!

Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana

The Rajasthan government is offering free insurance for cows and buffaloes under the “Mukhyamantri Mangala Pashu Bima Yojana” to support livestock farmers. Initially, the registration deadline was set for 31 January 2025, but it has now been extended to 11 February 2025.

The primary goal of this scheme is to provide financial protection to livestock farmers in case of animal loss due to natural disasters or other reasons. The government has allocated ₹400 crore for this initiative, which will provide free insurance coverage to 21 lakh animals.

Farmers can register for the scheme through its official mobile app or web portal. Beneficiaries will be selected through a lottery system from the registered applicants.

Haryana is likely to receive good rainfall, while light rain may occur at isolated places in Punjab, Delhi, and northern Rajasthan. Western Uttar Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain at several locations. From February 5 onward, minimum temperatures will drop in Northwest India. The rest of the country will remain dry. It also appears that February will be warmer than usual this year.

Cultivate Vegetables in a Shade Net House and Avail a Huge Government Subsidy

Growing vegetables in a shade net house is highly beneficial for farmers. It allows better plant care and ensures good yields at a lower cost. Recognizing these advantages, the government provides subsidies for setting up shade net houses. The Bihar government, in particular, is offering up to a 50% subsidy to farmers in the state for this initiative.

This scheme primarily aims to support the cultivation of gerbera, roses, and high-value vegetables. Under the scheme, farmers will receive a 50% subsidy on the total cost of setting up a shade net house. The cost per square meter for a shade net house is ₹710, out of which the government will provide ₹355 as financial assistance. Farmers interested in availing of this scheme should visit the official website of the Agriculture Department to apply.

Snowfall is expected in the mountains, along with rain in Punjab and Haryana, starting February 1. Rain is also likely in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan on February 3 and 4. Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maha Kumbh may experience rainfall on February 5. Rain activity is also set to increase in South India.

Minimum temperatures will remain above normal, and there is no possibility of a cold wave.
