Get a Huge Subsidy on Wheat and Gram Sowing: Here’s the Government’s Plan!

Get a Huge Subsidy on Wheat and Gram Sowing

The Rabi season has begun, and farmers are busy sowing their crops. If you hear that the government is offering a subsidy on crop sowing, it might sound unbelievable—but it’s true! Farmers in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh, can avail of this benefit specifically for wheat and gram crops.

This scheme aims to make farmers self-reliant by reducing their expenses and ensuring higher profits through better yields. Speaking about the initiative, the district’s Agriculture Officer stated, “A subsidy scheme is being implemented for the farmers of Burhanpur. Farmers purchasing wheat seeds for two hectares will receive a subsidy of ₹300. Similarly, those buying 1 quintal of gram seeds for two hectares will get a subsidy of ₹1,000 per quintal.”

To avail of this subsidy, farmers must apply at the Agriculture Department office. The seeds will be provided from the same office upon successful application. However, note that the subsidy is applicable only to farmers with more than two hectares of land. The application process will remain open until December.

Symptoms and control measures of Aphid pest in pea crop

Aphid is the carrier of pea mosaic. Both nymphs and adults of this insect suck the sap from twigs, tender leaves, stems and inflorescence. Due to this the leaves are twisted and deformed. And there is dwarfism in the plants. This insect secretes honeydew, which hinders the process of photosynthesis. And the leaves turn yellow and start drying.

Control Measures

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

Launched on February 24, 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has become a lifeline for small and marginal farmers across India. Under this scheme, farmers receive financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually, disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.

So far, 18 installments have been successfully transferred to farmers’ bank accounts. Now, farmers eagerly await the 19th installment. While the scheme ensures that only eligible farmers receive payments, there has been no official announcement about the release date of the 19th installment. Speculations suggest that it may be credited by February 2024.

Farmers can visit the PM Kisan portal to check the status of their previous installments and find out why a payment might have been stopped. This portal provides detailed insights to help resolve any issues related to the scheme.

Peanuts from This State Set to Make Their Mark Globally Government’s Remarkable Plan

In many regions, governments actively promote crops unique to their areas. In this context, the peanuts of Jhansi district in Uttar Pradesh are now in the spotlight. The state government has devised a strategic plan to bring the delicious taste of Jhansi’s peanuts to the global stage by developing the region as a peanut cluster.

If implemented successfully, this initiative will open national-level markets for Jhansi’s peanuts and enable their export to international markets. Known statewide for peanut cultivation, this scheme also aims to boost farmers’ incomes in the district.

Speaking to the media, the Senior Agricultural Marketing Inspector of Jhansi stated, “A proposal to establish an export-focused peanut cluster has been submitted to the State-Level Agricultural Export Monitoring Committee. Once approved, a district-level committee will be formed under the District Magistrate’s leadership, and the cluster development work will commence.”
