Fish farming business is very popular among the farmers of rural areas and it is also proving to be very profitable. Farmers earn good profits from fish farming at low cost and that is why many farmers are increasingly turning towards it. The government is also encouraging farmers to do fish farming. For this, both the central and state governments are running many important schemes.
One of these schemes is PM Matsya Sampada Yojana, under which up to 60% subsidy is being given to fish farming farmers and fishermen by the Central Government. In this scheme, a 60% subsidy is given to Scheduled Caste women for fish farming and a 40% subsidy to general category women. Through this scheme, farmers and fishermen can also get loans from the government. Under this scheme, farmers can take a loan of up to Rs 1.60 lakh without any guarantee by making a Kisan Credit Card.
