Due to uncertainties present in the field of farming, the financial condition of the farmer brothers does not remain stable. In such a situation, they have to face difficulties in living in old age. To overcome this problem of farmers, the Central Government has started the ‘Pradhanmantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana’. The objective of this scheme is to make the farmers who have completed 60 years of age self-reliant and to provide power to the landless farmers. Under this scheme, farmer brothers can get a pension amount of Rs 3000 per month by paying a premium of Rs 55 to Rs 200.
Who will get the benefit of this scheme?
The age of the applicant availing the benefit of this scheme should be between 18 to 40 years. Along with this, the benefit of this scheme will be available only to those farmers who have 2 hectares or less of cultivable land. After joining the scheme, a beneficiary of 18 years will have to pay Rs 55 per month and a beneficiary of 40 years will have to pay Rs 200 per month. When the beneficiary turns 60 years of age, a pension amount of Rs 3000 per month will be given as financial assistance.
