Get 75% subsidy on the purchase of Murrah buffalo

Many schemes are being run by the government to encourage farming and animal husbandry in the country. Animal husbandry is considered the second better source of income in rural areas after agriculture. Apart from obtaining milk through animal husbandry, farmers can use their faeces to make natural manure.

However, not all farmers are able to buy cattle due to financial constraints. In such a situation, the Madhya Pradesh government is providing 50% subsidy on the purchase of Murrah buffalo to the farmers of the state, so that every section of the farmer can raise his means of income through animal husbandry.

According to this scheme, the state government is getting Murrah buffaloes from the neighbouring state of Haryana, which will be sold to the cattle owners with a discount of 50%. Apart from this, up to 75% relaxation will be given to the cattle farmers of the ST and SC categories. Under this scheme, a parent can buy a maximum of two buffaloes, one pregnant and the other with a child. However, there is also a condition that after buying the buffalo, it will be mandatory to keep them with you for at least five years.

Murrah buffalo is considered to be the best breed in milk production. Murrah buffalo gives 12 to 15 liters of milk in a day. Especially this breed is found in Punjab and Haryana. In Haryana, it is even called ‘black gold’. The cost of a Murrah buffalo is about one lakh rupees, which the Madhya Pradesh government is providing to the people of its state at less than half the price.
