Farmers across the country have now started the work of sowing crops for the Kharif season. Kharif crops will now need good irrigation. In view of this, provision of subsidy is being given by the government on irrigation equipment. The state government has made a similar provision for the farmers of Bihar. In this episode, the government is giving subsidies of up to 90% on new techniques of irrigation like drip irrigation and machines used in sprinkler irrigation.
In fact, the state government has started this subsidy scheme to reduce the wastage of water and to promote the techniques of drip irrigation and sprinkler irrigation, which are useful in irrigating a maximum number of fields with minimum water. The Bihar Agriculture Department has tweeted on this issue and it is written in this tweet that “Take advantage of 90 percent of the micro irrigation scheme under irrigation water to every farm. The cost of the drip irrigation technique is Rs. 65,827. On this 90 per cent or Rs 59,244 as subsidy.
