Dragon fruit is a fruit which gets a very good price in the market. In view of this, many farmers are now cultivating non-traditional crops like dragon fruit instead of cultivating traditional crops. The Bihar government is giving this subsidy to the farmers of its state through the Dragon Fruit Development Scheme under the ‘Mukhyamantri Horticulture Mission Scheme’. It is worth noting that the agricultural expenditure per hectare has been fixed at Rs 7.50 lakh for cultivating dragon fruit. This means that through this scheme, farmers can get a total subsidy of up to 40% i.e. Rs 3 lakh.
