Management of chilli wilt disease

  • In this disease, the plant starts drying up and withering, the leaves start curling upwards and inwards, in the end, the leaves turn yellow and die. In this disease, the stem and root also dry up and wither, the whole plant looks weak and scorched. Usually, the symptoms of this disease appear mainly in the same area in the field and later gradually infect the plants of the whole field.

  • Use wilt resistant varieties for its management.

  • Before sowing, do seed treatment with Trichoderma viride 4 gm or Carbendazim 2 gm/kg seed.

  • Mix 2 kg Trichoderma viride with 50 kg FYM with basal dosage.

  • Spray of Pseudomonas spp @ 500 gm/acre.

  • Thiophantate methyl 70%W/W @ 300 gm + Kasugamycin 3% SL 400 ml or Kasugamycin 5% + Copper oxychloride 45% WP @ 300 gm/acre for drenching.
