The first low pressure area of this season is formed over southern Odisha. It will move westward and due to its effect, heavy to very heavy rains are expected over southern Odisha, northern Telangana, Vidarbha, Madhya Maharashtra, Konkan and Goa, southern Gujarat, southern Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka during the next 24 hours. There is also no possibility of waterlogging and floods in the southern districts of Gujarat and many districts on the west coast of India. The axis of the monsoon remains south of its normal position, so the monsoon will remain weak in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh including Bihar, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal. Heavy rains are also expected in eastern Rajasthan and southern Rajasthan. Uttarakhand may also receive good rains. Rain activities may increase once again in the plains of the Ganges on July 17 and 18.
