Symptoms and control measures of Purple blotch disease in the onion crop

Symptom of damage: Due to the outbreak of this disease, there are small white dots on the upper part of the leaves with irregular chlorotic areas. Circular to oblong concentric black velvety rings or purple spots appear in the chlorotic area. Lesions develop towards the base of the leaves. Infected leaves droop down and die. With this disease, the tubers of the infected plant also get infected.

Control measures: For the control of this disease, Spray Novacrust (Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% SC) @ 300 ml or Score  (Difenoconazole 25% EC) @ 200 ml + Silicomaxx gold @ 50 ml + Novamaxx (Gibberellic Acid 0.001 % L) @ 300 ml per acre @ 150 to 200 litres of water.
