Under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the next installment will be available to farmers from August 1, 2020. It is worth mentioning that this ambitious scheme was started last year, under which money is sent directly to the bank accounts of farmers as financial aid by the central government. However, now a major change has taken place in this scheme, which will benefit 2 crore farmers who are not able to avail of the scheme.
According to Union Minister of State for Agriculture Kailash Chaudhari, the scope of farmers covered under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana has been expanded. Now the obligation to own up to 2 hectares of cultivable land has been abolished under this scheme. This will benefit more than 2 crore farmers and they will be given an installment of 6 thousand rupees soon.
