Government will do this work to increase fish production in the country

The central government presented its interim budget for the year 2024 on 1 February. While presenting this budget, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has also made many announcements for the agriculture sector. One of these announcements has also been made to promote fish production. He said, “Our government is working to promote fish production in the country. For this, a separate department has been established for the fisheries sector to help the fishermen. Due to this, both inland and aquaculture production in the country is increasing. “Has doubled. Also, seafood exports have doubled since 2013-14.”

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman during the budget speech announced to increase in the aquaculture productivity in the country from 3 tonnes to 5 tonnes per hectare. It has also been announced to accelerate the implementation of PM Matsya Sampada Yojana to double exports to Rs 1 lakh crore and create 55 lakh employment opportunities shortly.
