How to control the root aphid in wheat crop

  • At present, due to adverse weather conditions, there are heavy attacks of root aphid  in wheat crops.
  • The identification of the root aphid insect is that the insect is light yellow to dark yellow. When uprooted  wheat plants, this insect is easily visible at the shoot over the roots.
  • symptoms of this is, this  insect sucks the sap from the shoot over the roots of wheat plants, due to which the plant turns yellow and starts to dry gradually. Initially yellow  plants appear in the fields.
  • Soil treatment: – At present time at some places, sowing of wheat is continuous or is going to be over, at this time it is very important to do soil treatment before sowing of wheat, for this, use  Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 200-250 gram / acre    , as a biological treatment, use Bavaria Basiana @ 500 gram / acre.
  • Seed treatment: – For seed treatment , use Imidacloprid 48% FS @ 1.0 ml / kg of seed  or Thiamethoxam 30% FS @ 4 ml / kg of seeds as a seed treatment.
  • Spray: – Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 100 gram / acre or Imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 100 gram / acre. 
  • Thus the root aphid  can be controlled by taking control measures from time to time.
