Agriculture Minister Tomar attends discussion on the livelihood of farmers in the G-20 meeting

All countries of the world including India are troubled by the Corona epidemic. On the same burning issue of Corona, a meeting was held on Tuesday through a video conference between the leaders of the G-20 countries. Agriculture ministers of all the G-20 countries made their presence at the conference.

In this meeting, there was a big discussion mainly on ways to keep the food supply chain in the world smooth and to further the livelihood of the farmers. Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was present in this meeting on behalf of India. The conference was chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Minister for Environment, Water and Agriculture Abdulrahman Alfaazali.

Union Agriculture Minister Tomar welcomed the initiative of Saudi Arabia to bring the G-20 countries on a platform to consider ways to ensure the continuity of food supplies, including the livelihood of farmers. Tomar discussed the exemptions being given to agriculture amid the ongoing lock-down in India and apprised it to all his counterpart agriculture ministers.
