Aphid control in bitter gourd crop

  • Aphid is under the category of sucking pests, this pest greatly affects the growth of the plant by sucking the cell sap of the bitter gourd’s leaves.

  • The leaves of the affected plant turn yellow and shrink. In the stage of excessive infestation, the leaves dry up and gradually the whole plant dries up.

  • Aphids release a type of honeydew, which causes black fungus infestation.

  • To control this, spray imidacloprid 17.8% SL [Confidor] @ 100 ml/acre or Acephate 75 % SP [Asataf] @ 300 gram/acre or Thiamantoxam 25% WG [ThiaNova 25 ] @ 100 gram/acre.

  • Use Beauveria Bassiana [Bave curb] @ 250 gram/acre as biological treatment.
