The southwest monsoon is likely to be below normal in the year 2023. This may account for 94% of the average monsoon rainfall from 1 June to 30 September. The effect of El Nino on the Monsoon will be visible which will be visible from the third month of the Monsoon. June has a 99% chance of above-normal rainfall. July can get 95% of the rainfall compared to normal. This figure will be 92% in August and 90% in September. The Indian Ocean Dipole is currently looking positive but it is difficult to say from now on how much it will affect the monsoon.
