Government Begins Jowar and Millet Procurement in this state

With the Kharif crop harvest complete, farmers are now eagerly awaiting government procurement at the Minimum Support Price (MSP). In Madhya Pradesh, the government has initiated the purchase process for jowar and millet, setting up over 1,400 procurement centers across the state to facilitate farmers.

To address payment-related issues, a technical cell has been established at both district and state levels. Additionally, the government has instructed that payments for crop sales be made directly to farmers’ bank accounts within 48 hours.

The procurement process started on 22 November and will continue until 20 December. As for prices, the MSP for the Maldandi variety of jowar has been set at ₹3,421 per quintal, while the hybrid variety is priced at ₹3,371 per quintal. Similarly, the MSP for millet is ₹2,625 per quintal.
