Farmers put in immense effort to grow crops and achieve good yields, yet many struggle to get fair prices for their produce. To address this issue, the Rajasthan government has launched the ‘Khet Se Kharid’ e-Mandi platform scheme. This initiative allows farmers to sell their produce directly from their farms. Key tasks such as auctions, payment processing, and goods acceptance will now be handled online.
The state’s Agriculture and Horticulture Department stated, “Through the e-Mandi platform, agricultural produce markets are being digitalized. With e-auctions, traders can place bids remotely without needing to be physically present.”
The e-Mandi platform is essentially an online marketplace for agricultural trade. It operates similarly to traditional mandis, but all transactions are conducted digitally, enabling farmers to directly connect with buyers.
