  • Do not irrigate the wheat crop with the sprinkler method while the ears emerge, otherwise, the flowers may fall. Due to this the ends of the grains also turn black, due to which there is a fear of infestation of diseases like karnal bunt, blight. 

  • Irrigation should be stopped when the grain is filled and the crop becomes golden in colour. Irrigation at this time affects the brightness and quality of grains.

  • In the wheat crop at the time of the grain filling stage, for quality of the grain, Spray Propiconazole 25% EC @ 200 ml along with 00:00:50 @ 1 kg/acre. 

  • To control root aphid, spray Imidacloprid 17.8% SL @ 100 ml per acre or apply Thiamethoxam 25% WG @ 250 gm per acre mixed with manure/sand/soil in the standing crop and give irrigation.

  • To control rust, spray Hexaconazole 5% SC @ 400 ml or Propiconazole 25% EC @ 200 ml or Tebuconazole 25.9% EC @ 200 ml/acre.

  • For the control of rats, make small tablets by mixing 3-4 gm of zinc phosphide with one kilogram of flour, a little jaggery and oil and keep them near the bills of rats.
