Playing songs in the wedding ceremony will be expensive, see new rules

Playing a song in a wedding ceremony has become an essential ritual. Every function without dancing and singing seems like a fizzle, but now playing a song for free can cost you dearly. New rules have been implemented on the playing of songs in Punjab and Haryana.

There will be a fine for playing a song

According to these rules, you cannot use sound recordings in hotels and big palaces without taking a license from the music company. If you are caught playing songs without a license, you can face legal action under the copyright act violation.

Reason for applying the rule

The High Court has given this decision while hearing a petition filed by Novex Communication Pvt Ltd. The petitioner company has the rights of many big music companies. Under this, if you want to play a sound recording in hotels and palaces, then you have to get a license from the company.
