Government will buy moong at the rate of Rs 7275 per quintal

This time in the summer season, the farmer brothers have got a bumper crop of moong. However, due to its very low price in the market, they are suffering a lot financially. To end the problems of farmers the Madhya Pradesh government has again announced to buy moong in the state at the minimum support price. Under this, the state government is starting the registration from July 18.

According to this, from July 18, farmers of the state can register for selling moong at MSP. Under this, the state government will procure moong from the farmers at the rate of Rs 7 thousand 275 per quintal, which is more than the price available in the market. Along with this, the government has requested to purchase 4 lakh 3 thousand metric tonnes of moong, so that more and more farmers can get the benefit of their produce.

The Kharif season is in its last phase and harvesting of crops like paddy has started. In such a situation, the Madhya Pradesh government has fixed the date of purchase of paddy at the minimum support price (MSP). Paddy procurement will start from the 25th of November next month.

Know the last date of purchase of wheat on support price in Madhya Pradesh

In Madhya Pradesh, procurement of gram, lentil, and mustard at the minimum support price is currently in progress and the last date of this process has now been extended to 29 July. Previously, the last date for procurement by the Agriculture Department was kept on 15 June which has now been extended.

Along with this, it has also been told that now the purchase will be made only from the farmers called by sending SMS. The purpose of doing this is to make storage arrangements simultaneously. On this issue, the state agriculture minister Kamal Patel has appealed to the farmers to keep their crops at home. Every grain of registered farmers’ produce will be purchased.

It is worth noting that so far six lakh 58 thousand tonnes of gram has been purchased in Madhya Pradesh at the support price and farmers have been paid Rs.3,700 crore as its value. Explain that this purchase process was started from May 29 and it will run for 90 days.

Registration for purchase of Urad and Moong started at MSP in MP, this is the last date

The harvesting of moong and urad crop has started by farmers, and the process of registration has also started for procurement of moong and urad on MSP from Madhya Pradesh government. This process has been started from 4 June and its last date is 15 June.

It is important to note that the wheat procurement work has been finished in the state and after that the work of purchasing other crops is also being started slowly so that farmers can focus on their other crops.

Good News for Farmers Increase in Minimum Support Price of 14 Kharif Crops

In the midst of the Corona crisis, there is great news for farmers. The good news comes from a meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Modi yesterday. In this meeting, the minimum support price for 14 crops of Kharif season has been fixed, which has been increased as compared to last year.

The cabinet has fixed MSP of Paddy at Rs 1868, Jowar at Rs 2620, Millet at Rs 2150 per quintal. Besides, MSP of Maize has been fixed at Rs 1850, Peanut Rs 5275, Sunflower Rs 5885, Soybean at Rs 3880 and Cotton’s medium fiber yield at Rs 5515 and long fiber yield at Rs 5825 per quintal.

Significantly, the Commission for Agricultural Costs and Prices (CACP), in its report presented before the Union Cabinet recently, recommended raising the support price of 17 kharif crops. Now the Union Cabinet has increased the minimum support price for 14 crops of the Kharif season keeping these recommendations of the CACP.

Purchase of wheat on support price postponed

  • Earlier, under normal circumstances, the purchase of wheat at MSP by the Government of Madhya Pradesh was to be done from April 1, 2020. For this, farmers have already registered with e-procurement.
  • But now the state government has postponed the wheat procurement work being started from April 1, 2020, keeping in view the situation of Coronavirus till further orders.
