1 to 2 days after sowing – to provide primary nutrients to the crop
Just after sowing give first irrigation and apply basal dose of fertilizer as below. Mix all these & spread over soil- DAP 40 kg, MoP 20 kg + PK Bacteria (Pro Combimaxx) 1 kg + Rhizobium (Jaivatika R) 1 kg + Humic Acid + Seaweed + Amino + Micorrhyza (Maxxmyco) 2 kg per acre.

- Yellow to white powder appears on the upper and lower surface of the leaves of green gram.
- For managing them use, Azoxystrobin 11% + tebuconazole 18.3% SC @ 300 ml /acre or Azoxystrobin @ 300 ml/acre
- Spray: Trichoderma viride @ 500 gram/acre + Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 250 gram/acre as a biological treatment
How to manage weed in moong crop?
- Green gram is cultivated on a large scale in many districts of Madhya Pradesh.
- Green gram is included in the major pulses crops and it is a short duration crop with good production.
- Farmers should pay special attention to weeds for about 20 to 30 days after sowing of Green gram.
- Because in the early stages weeds cause heavy damages to the crop.
- Farmers should use Pendimethalin 38.7 CS @ 700 ml/acre in as a pre-emergence herbicide in green gram crop.
Importance of Rhizobium culture in Moong crop
- Rhizobium bacteria is found in the roots of moong plants which causes atmospheric nitrogen fixation and increases crop yield.
- Use of Rhizobium culture produces fast nodules in pulses, which increases 20-30 % yield of Moong, Gram, Pigeonpea and Urad and 50-60% increases soybean yield.
- The use of Rhizobium culture increases about 30-40 kg of nitrogen per hectare in the land.
- Seed treatment in moong is done with 5-10 gram of Rhizobium culture while the Soil treatment is done by mixing 1 kg / acre for pre-sowing with 50 kg FYM.
- The nitrogen deposited by Rhizobium bacteria present in the roots of the pulse crop is used in the next crop, which reduces the need of nitrogen in the next crop.
Why seed treatment is so crucial in mung crops
- Seed treatment reduces the chances of seed-borne and soil-borne diseases and thus increases seed germination.
- Treat seeds with Carboxin 37.5% + Thiram 37.5% at the rate of 2.5 g / kg to control harmful fungi found in soil.
- For its biological treatment, treat seeds with Trichoderma viride at the rate of 5-10g / kg seed. or
- treat the seeds with Pseudomonas fluorescens at the rate of 5-10 g/ kg seed.
Basal dose and first irrigation
