Lay irrigation pipelines on 50 percent super subsidy

Various schemes are being run by the “Land and Water Management Department” to save the groundwater level from going down to extremely low levels. One of the main schemes is the scheme related to laying underground irrigation pipelines, under which a 50% super subsidy is being given to the farmers.

With the help of this subsidy, farmers in Nawashahar, Punjab, can lay irrigation pipelines in their fields. 50% of the total expenditure on laying the pipeline or Rs 2200 per hectare, whichever is less, will be provided by the government.

Explain that by laying these underground irrigation pipelines, up to 25% of water is saved. Along with this, it also saves labour costs and electricity. It is noteworthy that till now in the year 2023-24, 1880 meter pipeline has been laid in an area of 23 hectares by spending Rs 7 lakh.
