9 crore farmers to get 18 thousand crore rupees on Atal Jayanti

Every year on 25 December, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee is celebrated. This year, this day is bringing special gifts for the farmers. This time, 18 thousand crore rupees will be sent to the bank account of 9 crore farmers across the country.

These funds are being sent to the farmers under the Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. If we talk about the farmers of Madhya Pradesh, then the amount of this scheme has to be sent to the account of about 78 lakh farmers of the state.

4.91 crore farmer families received Rs. 9826 crore under Kisan Samman Nidhi

Currently, there is a lockdown to prevent coronavirus infection across the country, due to which poor farmer families are facing a shortage of money. In view of the same shortage, the Central Government made a huge relief package of Rs 1.70 lakh crore under the “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana” and under the “Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana” an installment of 2000 rupees in the first week of April to help the farmer families, The announcement was made on behalf of the government.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, 8.7 crore farmer families will be given money, out of which the government has released the installment of this financial year to about 4.91 crore farmers from March 24 to April 03. 9826 crore has been provided to 4.91 crore farmer families under it. The Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar gave information about the amount given to the farmers.

This good news is related to the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana. The date of giving the first instalment to the farmers covered under this scheme has been announced.

According to media reports, the payment of the first instalment under the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana will be started from April 1. It should be noted that under this scheme, the government gives Rs. 6000 to farmers in three equal instalments throughout the year. This ambitious scheme was started last year by the Government of India to provide financial assistance to the farmers.

What is PM Kisan scheme and what are its benefits?

PM Kisan scheme-

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (generally known as the PM Kisan Yojana) is a central government’s scheme, which aims to provide income support to Indian farmers so that they can meet their financial needs regarding various agricultural inputs. This scheme was launched on 24th February 2019 by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Initially, the benefits of this scheme applied to the small & Marginal farmers only, but now it is extended to all farmer families, irrespective of the size of their landholdings.

Benefits of the scheme

Under the PM-KISAN scheme, each eligible farming family will be provided with a financial benefit of 6000 Rs per annum. This amount will be provided in three equal instalments of Rs. 2000 each, which would be provided every fourth month.

This scheme had already proved to be very fruitful to millions of farmers. According to a media report, around 7.6 crore farmers had received its benefits until November 2019. And now the government has added even more features to this scheme. Along with the scheme, farmers will also get many other additional benefits and facilities.
