  • Powdery mildew is a fungal disease that affects  the leaves of bitter gourd. This disease is also known as bhabhutiya disease.

  • In powdery mildew, white powder appears on the upper surface of the leaves of the bitter gourd plant.

  • The white powder which gets deposited on the leaves, due to which the process of photosynthesis is greatly affected.

  • Dry weather or light rain helps to spread the powdery mildew and also due to irregular dew or wind, the disease spreads a lot.

  • For control of this disease spray Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% SC @ 300 ml/acre or Azoxystrobin 23% SC @ 200 ml acre or Myclobutanil10% WP @ 100 gram/acre.

  • Use Trichoderma viride @ 500 gram /acre or Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 250 gram /acre as a biological treatment.
