Generally, apple cultivation requires very low temperatures. But in Bihar and other plain states, the temperature becomes very high, so cultivating apples in these areas was not possible earlier. But now a variety of apples has been developed which can grow even in areas with high temperatures and also give good yield. This variety is Harman-99 which has been planted in districts like Muzaffarpur, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, Samastipur, Katihar and Aurangabad of Bihar for the last two years. However, let us tell you that the state government gives about Rs 2.5 lakh per hectare to the farmers for apple gardening.
