Barren land will earn bumper, livelihood scheme will get government help

To provide economic benefits to the farmers of the country, the central and state governments keep trying at their respective levels. In this series, ‘Aajeevika Yojana’ has been started to promote solar energy in the agriculture sector. Under which the central government is running schemes to set up solar pumps and solar panels on the barren lands of the farmers.

Purpose of the plan

  • The objective of this scheme is to connect the barren-useless land owners, farmers, developers as well as with the concerned discom or company.

  • Through this scheme, the companies setting up solar power plants will be able to directly connect with the farmers.

  • With its help, land will be easily available on lease to the companies.

  • Employment will be available to farmers even from barren land.

  • To achieve the goal of becoming a green energy state.

Compared to other states, Rajasthan ranks number one in the solar energy sector. At present, the state has 142 GW of solar power and 127 GW of wind power generation capacity.
