80% subsidy is available on agricultural machines useful in dragon fruit cultivation

More than 70% of the total Indian population earns its living by farming. To help these farmers, many beneficial schemes are run by the government through which subsidies are given to the farmers. In this context, the government is taking new steps with the aim of providing benefits to the farmers cultivating dragon fruit.

Actually, sprinkler technology is used to supplement irrigation in dragon fruit cultivation. In such a situation, the government is giving subsidies of up to 80% to the farmers who want to use it. It is worth noting that dragon fruit, which is popular in countries like Thailand, Vietnam and Israel, is being liked a lot in India these days. The price of this fruit in the Indian market is Rs 200 to 250. For this reason, dragon fruit is quite popular from a farming point of view.

The subsidy said to be suitable will actually be given to the farmers cultivating dragon fruit under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission scheme launched by the Bihar Government Horticulture Directorate for the farmers. In this scheme, a 40% subsidy per unit cost (₹ 1.25 lakh/hectare) will be given by the government. According to this, farmers cultivating dragon fruit will get 40% i.e. ₹ 50 thousand as subsidy.
