In the next two to three days, different weather conditions can be seen in different parts of the country. Snowfall may occur in hilly areas during the next 24 hours. At the same time, strong winds may blow along with heavy rains in some districts of Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra and hailstorms are likely with thunderstorms. Rain may also occur in north-eastern Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal and northeastern states. On the other hand, the temperature will increase in north-west India, especially the effect of heat will be felt in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Krishi Yantra Yojana

The Krishi Yantra Yojana launched by the Rajasthan government aims to make farming easier and more productive. Under this scheme, farmers can avail subsidies ranging from 40% to 50% to purchase modern agricultural equipment.

Key Benefits of the Scheme

  • Farmers can get subsidies on Seed Drill, Disc Harrow, Rotavator, Multi-Crop Thresher, Multi-Crop Planter, and Chisel Plough machines.

  • The scheme helps save time and effort in farming while boosting productivity.

  • Small and marginal farmers will be given priority, enabling them to adopt efficient farming methods over traditional techniques.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Farmers must own agricultural land.

  • For tractor-based equipment, the tractor must be registered in the farmer’s name.

  • A farmer can avail a subsidy on only one type of equipment once in three years.

How to Apply?

  • Farmers can apply through the Raj Kisan Portal or visit their nearest e-Mitra center.

  • Required documents include Jan Aadhaar number, land records, tractor registration certificate (if applicable), and other necessary documents.

  • After approval, farmers can purchase equipment from registered vendors.

  • Subsidy amounts will be transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account after verification.

Symptoms and control of downy mildew in cucumber crop

This is the most important disease of cucumbers, and this disease is caused by a fungus. Usually, its symptoms appear on the upper surface of the leaves. Initially, small yellow or orange spots appear on the leaves, and as the spots enlarge, they become brown with irregular margins. The white or light purple powder appears on the surface of the lower leaves of infected plants. The fruit is not affected by this disease, but it is less sweet in taste.

Control: To control it, grow resistant/tolerant varieties, avoid excessive overhead irrigation and irrigate the field late in the morning to dry leaves faster. If infestation is observed, spray Mirador (Azoxystrobin 23% SC) @ 200 ml per acre or Clutch  (Metiram 55% + Pyraclostrobin 5% WG) @ 600 -700 gm per acre.

During the next three days, many districts of Maharashtra are likely to receive heavy rains along with thunderstorms and hailstorms. Rainfall is also possible in North Eastern Rajasthan including Southern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha. Rainfall will also occur in some districts of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, heavy rain is expected in many districts of Karnataka. Heavy rain is also possible in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Snowfall may occur again on the mountains on April 3.
