Know how to manage irrigation in garlic crop at all stages
  • It is very important to have proper moisture in the field at the time of sowing a garlic crop, so irrigate the field before sowing. After three days of germination, irrigation should be done again.

  • Irrigate after every one week of vegetative growth, or as per the need.

  • Irrigation should not be done during the bulb formulations.

  • The crop should be irrigated 2-3 days before harvesting, which makes it easy to harvest the crop.

  • During the maturation of the crop, the moisture in the soil should not be reduced, which can cause an adverse effect on the growth of the crop.

Gundhi bug pest that damages the paddy crop

Gundhi bug pest that damages the paddy crop
  • It is a major pest in the paddy crop during flowering, grain formation and later. This pest has 3 major stages, Egg (looks like a seed), Nymph (red-eye, green colour), Adult (brown colour). Both adults and nymphs damage the crop.

  • In the case of high infestation, the yield is reduced by 50%. Also, crop straw tastes unpleasant which cattles may find inedible.

  • The field smells bad when the insect attacks the crop. That’s why this insect is known as the gundhi bug. In the milky stage of the grain, the insect’s nymphs and adults damage the crop by sucking the milk of the grain. Some grains appear hollow and some semi-hollow. Due to peeling, brown spots appear on the husk of the grains, along with the grains turning brownish and the inflorescences becoming erect. In case of a severe outbreak, the stalk appears grainless.

  • For its management keep the field and bunds free of weeds and grasses.

  • Strict vigilance is necessary at the milking stage.

  • Netting and handpicking the bugs reduces their numbers.

  • Use of late-maturing varieties.

  • For chemical control, spray Quinalphos 25% EC 400 ml + Neem oil @ 10000 ppm @ 300 ml per acre.

Farmers earn more profit by connecting farms with the Gramophone app

Gramophone app is the true companion of farmers to farmers in a true sense and farmers have also understood the importance of technology in agriculture through Gramophone. With the help of the Gramophone app, the agricultural expenditure of the farmers has reduced and profits have increased. There are many such features in this app that provide farmers with all kinds of solutions related to agriculture. One of the main facilities included in these facilities is to link the farm with the app, with the help of which thousands of farmers are reducing their agricultural expenses and increasing the yield as well as increasing the profits. These farmers include Madan Dasore and Yuvraj Chaudhary, who took their farming to new heights through this feature of the Gramophone app.
