To avail of this scheme, the life of the insured must be between 18 and 59 years.

The annual premium under this scheme is 200 rupees. Of this, the government will add 100 rupees. If the insured is from a rural area and is included in 48 business groups doing business of beedi workers, carpenters, fisheries, handicrafts etc., then they do not have to pay 100 rupees.
