Red and yellow mite is a very small insect which forms groups on the lower surface of the leaves. It sucks the juice from the leaves. Due to this, there is a lack of nutrients in the plants, the leaves wither and curl downwards, which stops the growth of the plants. Due to its outbreak, the fruits are less and fall without ripening. Webs appear on plants when heavily infected.

Control: To prevent this, adopt crop rotation or uproot and destroy the affected plants. Apart from this, spray Omite (Propargite 57% EC)  @ 400 ml/acre or Oberon (Spiromesifen 22.9% SC) @ 160 ml mixed in 200 litres of water.

There is now a possibility of rain in many districts of Bihar. There is also a possibility of rain in Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha and southern Maharashtra. Heavy rains may occur in Kerala and South Karnataka including coastal Karnataka. There is also a possibility of torrential rain in Andaman Nicobar and Lakshadweep. Identification and control of bacterial leaf spot in chilli

Bacterial leaf spot in chilli plants is a serious bacterial disease. This disease mainly appears on old plants but soon starts affecting young plants also, small brown coloured spots appear on the leaves of the plant. Spots appear margins of leaves start drying, spots coalesce to form irregular lesions. The leaves turn chlorotic and fall prematurely when the infection is severe.

Control: Infected plants should be uprooted and destroyed so that the disease does not spread to other plants. Use disease-free seeds and if the disease appears apply M-45 (Mancozeb 75% WP) 400 gm/acre or Blue Copper (Copper Oxychloride 50% WP) at the rate of 300 gm/Acre mixed in 200 litres of water.

A low pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal, which will first become a depression and then a deep depression while moving in the northeast. Government will give subsidy up to 70%, will get benefit on cultivation of marigold flowers

With the help of many government schemes started for farmers, the income of farmers is increasing. In view of this, the government is also bringing many new schemes in farming. Bihar government is running a similar scheme for the farmers of its state. Under this, farmers who cultivate marigold flowers are given bumper subsidy. The objective of the government behind giving subsidy is that the farmers of North Bihar can achieve self-sufficiency in marigold cultivation.

According to the news, a target of 6 hectares has been set for the cultivation of marigold flowers in Bihar by the year 2023-24. Through this scheme, farmers of North Bihar can get the benefit of subsidy up to 70% on cultivation of marigold. The benefit of this scheme will be available to those farmers who have already registered for it on the DBT portal. If you have not registered on the DBT portal till now, then do it soon.

Initially, brown spots appear on the lower surface of the leaves. Older leaves, which are closer to the ground, are affected by the disease. As the disease progresses, the leaves dry up and turn brown. In case of severe infection, the plant may completely defoliate. Spots may also be seen on the upper surface of the leaves. The disease progresses from the lower leaves upwards and infects the stem and fruits.

Control:- If its attack is observed, spray M-45 (Mancozeb 75% WP) at the rate of 400 gm/acre mixed with 200 litres of water.
