What measures to take to avoid fungal diseases after sowing soybean crop

What measures to take to avoid fungal diseases after sowing soybean crop
  • In the present time, farmers are not able to get much benefit from soybean crop, there are many reasons behind this, one of the main reasons is the fungal diseases in soybean crop, due to which soybean crop is affected a lot. Due to plant rot disease, blight disease, leaf spot disease etc., soybean crops are affected a lot.

  • For their control, it is very important to do disease management, for this choose disease resistant varieties and Simultaneously, before sowing, sow only after treating the seeds and soil, spraying immediately after the symptoms of the disease appear.

  • Do not allow water to stagnate in the soybean crop for a long time and in excess quantity, because more quantity of water will accumulate in the soybean crop, it will have more effect on the plant and outbreak of fungal diseases in the crop.

  • The same fungicide should not always be used for the control of fungal diseases because repeated use of the same fungicide leads to resistance of the disease to that fungicide, due to which the disease is not controlled.

  • Soyabean is sown at a fixed distance, do not sow too densely because there is a possibility of an attack of fungus. Control weeds because it is also helpful in spreading fungal diseases.

Benefits of cultivating by making machan in cucurbitaceous crops

Benefits of cultivating by making machan in cucurbitaceous crops
  • What is Machan Method:  In this method, the vine of cucurbitaceous crops is kept above the ground by making a wire net. With this, vine vegetables can be grown easily. Along with this, the crop can be saved from many types of diseases. This results in higher production of the crop.

  • Cucumber, sponge gourd, bitter gourd, bottle Gourd and many other vegetables are cultivated in the summer season, but due to rain, these crops start rotting. Farmers can get good yield by planting early varieties of  vegetables by machan  method. First of all, the nursery is prepared and then planting is done in the main field without damaging the roots. To make machan, a net is made with the help of bamboo or wire and the vegetable vine is brought up with the help of wire or bamboo. During the rainy season, machan cultivation protects the fruit from damage. If there is any disease in the crop, then it is also easy to spray the pesticide in the machan.

  • Advantages of cultivation by  machan method: The growth of crops is very good. The crop gets plenty of sunlight and air. Weeds and grasses are also affected less. The  machan can be used for 3 years. Pests and the risk of disease is reduced because it prevents the crop from contact with the soil and the  attack of diseases is very less.

  • The care of the crop is easily done such as it is easy to do spraying etc., 2 to 3 vegetables can be cultivated at a time. The machan method can prove successful in doubling the income of the farmer. Through this method, the farmer can save 90 percent of the crop from spoilage. Along with this, the loss in farming will also be less for the farmers.

What factors affect crop production?

What factors affect crop production?
  • Climate: This is the most important factor in cropping patterns. Climate determines which crop will provide good yield in which area. The crop production capacity of an area mainly depends on the climatic and soil condition of the region.

  • Soil: Soil is also an important factor in cropping patterns. Each soil has some special properties which are more suitable for the production of a particular crop. Similarly, the soil of an area is more fertile and the soil of some area is less fertile.

  • Rainfall: Due to less or more rainfall, the crop is affected a lot because some crops suffer from fungal diseases due to excessive rainfall and some crops are not able to germinate well due to less rainfall. If there is no rain and there is a shortage of water while filling the grain, then the grain does not fill and there is a decrease in the yield.

  • Temperature: Temperature plays an important role in the growth of plants. It controls the physical process of plant metabolism. If the temperature is too low or too high, the growth of the crop will be affected.

  • Irrigation: Irrigation is an important factor among non-physical factors. We can compensate for the lack of rainfall by irrigation. We can manage irrigation by building canals. With an irrigation facility, production per hectare can be increased.

  • Seed: The quality of seeds also plays an important role in cropping patterns. Sowing high yielding seeds can make significant improvements to an agro-economy like India. Area-specific yields can be increased by 10 to 20 percent with improved seeds.

  • Fertilizers: Fertilizers help in increasing the production of food grains by increasing the fertility of the soil. Agricultural yields increase in areas where balanced fertilizers are used.
