Treatment of downy mildew disease in garlic and onion crop

  • In garlic and onion crops, this disease is caused by a fungus called Peronospora destructor.

  • The symptoms of this disease can be easily seen in the morning when the dew has frozen on the leaves.

  • The hallmark of this disease is a purple hairy growth on the surface of leaves and seed stalks.

  • The plant remains dwarfed due to the outbreak of this disease.

  • The leaves become light green. Gradually the leaves turn from pale yellow to dark brown and dry up.

  • Tubers infected with diseased plants are small in size and their storage period is also reduced.

  • To manage this disease, spray Azoxystrobin 23% SC @ 200 ml/acre or Azoxystrobin 11% + Tebuconazole 18.3% SC @ 300 ml/acre.

Old pension scheme will be implemented again

The budget was presented by the Rajasthan government in the assembly recently. During this, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has made a big announcement while presenting the budget. He has decided to re-implement the old pension scheme in the state and also to extend its benefit to the appointments made after January 1, 2004.

During this, CM Gehlot said that “We all know that the employees associated with government services should feel secure about the future, only then they can make their invaluable contribution towards good governance during the service period.” Therefore, for all the personnel appointed on and after January 1, 2004, I declare to implement the pension scheme before the coming year.

Farmers will get 42,000 rupees annually- know the whole process

You would know that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, farmers get ₹6000 annually in three installments. But perhaps you would not know about the annual 36000 rupees received as pension under this scheme.

Actually, with the opening of an account under the PM Kisan Yojana, registration is also done automatically in the PM Kisan Manadhan Yojana. Under the PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, 3 thousand rupees are given as a pension to farmers above 60 years of age. In this way, there is a benefit of at least 36 thousand rupees as a pension in a year.

The farmers get 6 thousand rupees from PM Kisan Yojana. At the same time, a contribution of ₹55 per month and a maximum ₹200 goes into the pension scheme. Thus, the maximum contribution in the year is ₹2400 and the minimum contribution is ₹660. Now reduce the maximum contribution from ₹6 thousand to ₹2400, then ₹3600 will be left in the PM Kisan Yojana account.

By this process, when you are over 60 years of age, then you will get a pension of 3 thousand rupees every month, as well as 3 installments of 2 thousand rupees. In this way, after the age of 60 years, farmers will be able to take a total benefit of 42 thousand rupees annually.

On behalf of the Bihar government, applications have been sought from the farmers of the state for a subsidy of up to 80% on agricultural implements that help in crop residue management. Along with this, the Agriculture Department, Bihar has also invited applications from the farmers of 9 districts of the state for starting Krishi Yantra Bank. Under this, farmers of Kaimur, Rohtas, Bhojpur, Nalanda, Buxar, Patna, Nawada, Gaya and Aurangabad districts can apply online. Farmers will get 36 thousand rupees, this scheme will benefit

PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana

Along with the instalment of 2000 rupees of PM Kisan Yojana, the government has given an update about the instalment of another scheme for the farmers. This scheme is PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana. Any farmer between 18 to 40 years of age can participate in this scheme and can get a pension of Rs 36000 on attaining 60 years of age.

In PM Kisan Maandhan Yojana, the amount of instalment is decided on the basis of age. Under this, the contribution has to be given from Rs 55 to Rs 200 per month. This pension fund is being managed by the Life Insurance Corporation of India.

Important tips for the storage of wheat crop

  • At present, wheat threshing work is going on in full swing in the fields. After this, the next process is wheat storage.

  • While storing wheat, keeping the following things in mind, you can keep the grains safe for a long time-

  • The grains should not have more than 10-12% moisture content for safe storage. Excess moisture makes the grain prone to pest and fungus outbreaks. Therefore, dry the wheat thoroughly before storage, after drying, if the grain breaks with the sound of cracking when pressed with the teeth, then understand that it is completely dry and is fit for storage.

  • After drying the grains in the sun, keep them in the shade for some time before storage, so that the heat of the grains goes out.

  • To keep the grain safe from pests, clean the godowns thoroughly before storing them, and burn neem leaves and smoke in the warehouse.

  • Use chemical grain gold @ 1 ampule per quintal of grains while storing or after storage, the warehouse should be closed by keeping two tablets of aluminium phosphide 3 gm per tonne of grains.

  • The larvae of the cutworm are black in colour, which when fully developed, that is, 1 to 2 inches long, remains hidden in the soil during the day, and at night cuts the new plant from the area near the soil. 

  • The caterpillars of the cutworm live on the leaves and by eating the leaves from the middle, they make a mesh-like structure on them.

  • Symptoms of damage include shrunken leaves and wilted plants.

  • For its control, Chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 1 litre, mix in 20 kg sand and put it in the field at the rate of per acre or use Chlorpyriphos 10% granules [Lethal 10 G GR] @ 4 kg per acre at the time of sowing. 

  • Dig out the soil of the cut plant, take out the caterpillar and destroy it.

  • In standing crop spray Profenofos 40% + Cypermethrin 04% EC (ProfeNova) 400 ml or Emamectin Benzoate 5% SC (EmaNova) 100 gm or Novaluron 5.25% + Emamectin benzoate 0.9% w/w SC (Barazide) 600 ml/acre. 

  • For biological control, spray Bavaria bassiana (Bava curb) @ 250 gm/acre.
