On June 10, Monsoon made light progress and advanced into some parts of Karnataka and Tamil Nadu including South Konkan Goa. Within the next 2 days, it will reach Andhra Pradesh and Telangana including Maharashtra and will cover the entire Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. Pre-Monsoon activities are going to intensify over East India including Gujarat, Southern parts of Madhya Pradesh, South East Rajasthan and Maharashtra.

Monsoon may now cover Goa, Maharashtra and some parts of Andhra Pradesh very soon. Heavy rain activities will continue over Northeast states. Light to moderate rain is possible in many districts of Maharashtra and in the eastern and southern districts of Gujarat. Along with Bihar, and West Bengal, there may be rain at many places in Sikkim. Heatwave conditions will continue over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as well as some parts of Vidarbha.

Pre-monsoon rains will start in Mumbai after a long time. Thunderstorms and thundershowers are possible over many parts of Maharashtra including Telangana, Chhattisgarh, southern districts of Madhya Pradesh and some parts of Gujarat. Scattered thunderstorms are possible over Delhi, Punjab, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh on June 11 or 12. Monsoon will remain active over Northeast India and weak over South India. The weather will remain warm over the northern parts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.

Monsoon rains across India were 40% less in the first 2 days due to a weak onset of monsoon. Monsoon will remain normal or weak over South India for the next 1 week, although the monsoon will reach the northeastern states soon and will give heavy rains. Heatwave is likely to prevail in some parts of Southwest Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Vidarbha including southern parts of Delhi, and Haryana, the weather will remain dry and hot in these areas.
