Due to the technological development happening in the agriculture sector, the life of farmers has become much easier than before. Today every work of agriculture is done with the help of machines in very less time and less effort. That is why the government is also helping to reach these machines to the farmers. We know that agricultural machines with new technologies are very expensive, which is out of the budget of the common farmer. In such a situation, many times these machines become cheaper for the farmer after getting a government subsidy. The Bihar government is running a special scheme for the farmers of its state, through which a bumper subsidy of 50% is being given to the farmers on power weeders.
The name of this scheme being run by the Government of Bihar is Agriculture Mechanization Scheme and it has been started by the Agriculture Department of Bihar. Under this, on the purchase of a power weeder up to 2.5 BHP, a maximum of 40% or Rs 24,000 will be given to the general farmers, while on the purchase of a 5 BHP power weeder, the general farmers will get a super subsidy of a maximum 50% or Rs 32,000. SC/ST/OBC farmers will be given a maximum subsidy of 50% or Rs.30,000 on the purchase of a 2.5 BHP power weeder, while a maximum subsidy of 50% or Rs.40,000 will be given on the purchase of a 5 BHP power weeder. To take advantage of this scheme, farmers of Bihar can apply on the official website www.farmmech.bhair.nic.in.
