  • Use Trichoderma viride @ 500 gm/acre as soil treatment and Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 250 gm/acre as spray as biological treatment.

  • When the potato crop reaches 80-90 days, then the problem of tuber cracking is mainly seen.

  • Excessive nitrogen, a bad soil structure, boron deficiency and low planting densities are the main causes of this disorder. Apart from this, due to irregular irrigation in the field, i.e. more irrigation in the field, then allowing it to dry completely and repeat more irrigation also causes the tubers to crack.

  • Due to the presence of cut marks, sore spots on the tubers, fungal diseases and insect outbreaks are more likely.

  • Potatoes should be of good shiny, large size to get a good market price for crop production.

  • Spray Boron 500 gm + Calcium Nitrate at the rate of 1 kg per acre for a good shine and to prevent cracking in potatoes.

  • Uniform irrigation and the application of the right amount of fertilizers can prevent tubers from cracking.

  • In areas where this problem is seen every year, using slow-growing varieties can also reduce this disorder.

Farmers will get a pension of ₹3000 from this scheme

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana run by the government, farmers get 3000 rupees as pension every month. Under this scheme, the farmer is given a pension after the age of 60 years.

Farmers from 18 years to 40 years can avail this scheme. It has to be contributed monthly on the basis of age. This contribution can range from Rs 55 to Rs 200 monthly.

For registration under this scheme, the farmer has to go to the Common Service Center where the farmer will have to take the Aadhaar card and the photocopy of the Khasra Khatian. Also, 2 passport size photographs and a bank passbook are also required. Explain that you do not have to pay any kind of fees for registration in this scheme.
