Increase in government subsidy on fertilizers

Recently, there was relief news for the farmers from the central government. The central government has increased the subsidy limit for fertilizers. The government has now decided to give an additional subsidy of Rs 28,000 crore on fertilizers. This information has come from the Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers Mansukh Mandaviya.

The Union Minister informed that the subsidy of urea fertilizer has been increased from Rs 1500 per bag to Rs 2000. The subsidy per bag of NPK compost has been increased from Rs 900 to Rs 1015. Subsidy of Rs 60 has been increased on SSP fertilizers.

8 lakh hybrid seed kits will be available for free

The great news is coming for the farmers. The Union Agriculture Ministry has decided to distribute mini kits of seeds in 15 major states. Through this, the seed replacement rate will increase and productivity will also increase. This will also increase the income of the farmers.

This program has started from Morena and Sheopur districts of Madhya Pradesh, where Union Agriculture Minister Shri Narendra Singh Tomar started distributing mustard seed mini kits worth about Rs.2 crore.

This program has been started under the National Food Security Mission Oil Seed and Oil Palm Scheme. Talking on this subject, Mr Tomar said that “after micro-level plan for the major mustard producing states of the country, approval has been given for distribution of seeds mini kit of rapeseed and mustard program this year.”

  • The wheat crop can be damaged by termites either after sowing or sometimes at the stage of maturity.

  • Termites often cause damage to crop roots, stems of growing plants, and dead plant tissues.

  • Damaged plants withers completely and are easily uprooted from the ground.

  • If well-decomposed manure is not used, the soil is more susceptible to termite attacks. 

  • Deep plough the field before sowing.

  • Use only well-decomposed manure 

  • Must treat soil with insecticide Metarhizium Anisopliae

  • Raw dung manure should not be used because raw dung is the staple food of this insect.

  • Fill the termite mound with kerosene so that all other insects along with the termite queen die.

  • Do seed treatment with Chlorpyriphos (20% EC) @ 5 ml / kg seed before sowing.

  • To control termites, use Chlorpyriphos 20% EC @ 1 litre mixed with any fertilizer and broadcast in soil and irrigate it.
