  • Thrips and mites are both sucking insects in the chilli crop. They suck the sap of leaves and flowers of the chilli crop with their sharp mouths. As a result, the leaves turn brown at the edges, and the leaves of the affected plant appear dry and withered. The leaves curl upwards due to the sucking of thrips Whereas, due to the infestation of the mites, the leaves appear to curl down and twisted webs become visible.

  • Thrips are small and soft-bodied insects of light yellow colour, both the baby insect and adult insect of this insect damage the chilli crop. It is found in greater quantities on the upper surface of the leaves and also on the lower surface of the leaves.

  • Mites are small and red or white in colour which thrives on the lower surface of the leaves.

  • If the symptoms of these two outbreaks are seen on the same plant, then the leaves appear to be bent upwards and downwards at someplace.

  • For its control spray, Chlorfenapyr 10% SC @ 300 ml or Abamectin 1.9% EC @ 150 ml or Properzite 57% EC @ 400 ml + Fipronil 5% SC @ 400 ml or Spiromesifen 22.9% SC @ 250 ml + Spinosad 45 % SC @ 75 ml / acre.

A farmer in the Panna district of Madhya Pradesh is getting diamonds again and again from his field. Please tell that this land was taken on lease by the farmer and during the excavation, diamonds of 6.47 carats of good quality have been found from it. The farmer did not get this diamond for the first time, but in the last two years, he has got six diamonds.

Talking on this subject, Nutan Jain, the diamond officer-in-charge of Panna district, said that “Prakash Majumdar got this diamond on Friday in Jaruapur village.” He further said that “the 6.47-carat diamond will be put up for sale in the upcoming auction and the price will be decided as per the guidelines of the government.   • Mosaic viral disease in cucurbits is generally spread by whitefly and aphid.

  • In this disease, irregular light, dark green and yellow stripes or spots appear on the leaves.

  • The leaves then curl, shrink and the veins of the leaves turn dark green or light yellow. 

  • The plant remains small and the fruits/ flowers seem to grow less or shed. 

  • Infected fruits are often deformed and discoloured, remain small and produce negligible seeds when severely infected.

  • Whitefly and aphid should be controlled to prevent this disease.

  • Spray Acetamiprid 20% SP @ 100 gm or Acephate 75 %SP @ 300 gm or Bifenthrin 10% EC @ 300 ml or Diphanthiuron 50%WP @ 250 gm/acre at 10-15 days interval to protect the crop from such pests.

  • For biological control, spray Metarhizium @ 1 kg/acre or Bavaria bassiana @ 250 gm /acre.
