Monsoon is likely to remain active over the eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh for the next few days. Due to this, heavy rain can be seen. Rain activities have been continuing in Mumbai since yesterday morning, with moderate rain likely to make the weather pleasant at many places. Torrential rain is likely over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala including Konkan and Goa. Heavy rains may continue over Bihar, Jharkhand, East Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal and Northeast states for the next 4 or 5 days. Northwest India including Delhi will have to wait for more than a week for the monsoon.

How to control blight disease in the early stages of cotton crop

  • After sowing of cotton crops, the outbreak of blight disease starts in the crop in the early stage of germination, due to which the growth of the cotton crop is greatly affected.

  • This disease is caused by bacteria. The attack of this disease does not start simultaneously in the cotton field, but gradually occurs from place to place and gradually spreads to the whole field. In this disease, the leaves start drying from top to bottom.

  • The initial symptoms of this disease appear on the leaves 20 to 35 days after the sowing of the cotton. In case of severe infestation, the leaves turn dirty green in color,  due to its attack, the crop becomes weak.

  • The disease is likely to spread rapidly if the humidity exceeds 95 percent. The pathogens of this disease remain in the soil for a long time, due to which this disease also damages the next crop.

  • For its control, take spray of Kasugamycin 5% + Copper Oxychloride 45% WP @ 300 g/acre near the root.

  • Spray Kasugamycin 3% SL @ 400 ml/acre or Streptomycin Sulphate 90% + Tetracycline Hydrochloride 10% W/W @ 20 gram/acre.

  • As a biological treatment, give Pseudomonas fluorescens @ 250 gram/acre as soil treatment and also as spray.

  • Chilli seedlings are ready for transplanting after 35 to 40 days of sowing. Suitable time for transplanting is from mid-June to mid-July. Light irrigation should be given before uprooting the plant from the nursery, by doing this the root of the plant is not damaged. and the plant is easily planted. After uprooting the plant from the nursery, it should not be kept in direct sunlight.

  • It is very important to uproot the chilli plant from the nursery and treat the plant before planting it in the main field. Therefore, for good root development, make a solution at the rate of 5 grams of mycorrhiza per liter in one liter of water. After this, the roots of the chilli plant should be dipped in this solution for 10 minutes. After adopting this process, transplant the chilli seedlings in the field. Light irrigation should be given to the field immediately after transplanting. In the transplanting of chilli seedlings, line to line and plant to plant distance should be kept 90-120 X 45-60 cm.

  • There are many benefits of using mycorrhiza for chilli seedlings treatment. Mycorrhiza is a symbiotic fungus capable of forming a massive connection between plant roots and the soil around them. By which it expands the working area of the roots, and it increases the availability of nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus for the plant.

Heavy rain is also expected in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in Konkan, Goa, Karnataka and Kerala. Rain may intensify in Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh including Delhi Punjab Haryana North Rajasthan.
