Brown plant hopper is growing in paddy crop, control it soon

  • Crescent-shaped white eggs are inserted into the midrib of the leaf sheath.

  • The colour of the nymph ranges from white to light brown.

  • Brown or white adults feeding near the base of tillers.

  • The feeding damage caused by planthoppers results in the yellowing of the plants.

  • At high population density, hopper burn or complete drying of the plants is observed. At this level, crop loss may be 100%.

Control of brown plant hopper in paddy crop:

  • Thianova (Thiamethoxam 25% WG) @ 40 gm/acre (or)

  • Novaceta (Acetamiprid 20% SP) @ 40 g/acre (or)

  • Fipnova (Fipronil 5% SC) @ 600 ml/acre.
