A rural storage scheme is a scheme run by the central government under which loans are provided for the construction of godowns for the storage of agricultural produce. In this scheme, the loan is provided by NABARD.
It is worth mentioning that till the farmers get a fair price for their produce, very few farmers have the facility to store their produce, so the Gramin Bhandaran Yojana was started by the government. Under this scheme, the government gives loans to farmers for storage and a subsidy is also given by the government on this loan.
