  • Both the young and adults of this insect suck the sap from the leaves, due to which the leaves of the plants turn downwards. The growth of the plant stops and the leaves dry up and fall. Whitefly develops a layer of black mould on the leaves of plants, due to which the process of photosynthesis is adversely affected.

  • This insect is also a carrier of the yellow vein mosaic virus disease.

  • For its management, spray Diafenthiuron 50% WP [Pager] @ 250 gm or Flonicamid 50% WG [Panama] @ 60 ml or Acetamiprid 20% SP [Novaceta] @ 100 gm/acre.
