Weed Management in Potato Crop
  • The potato crop is the main rabi crop, due to excessive moisture left in the soil after the rainy season after the sowing of potato crop weeds starts growing in large numbers.
  • All types of weeds can be controlled by the timely use of appropriate weedicide.
  • 1-3 days after sowing: – For control of weeds, use  Pendimethalin 38.7% CS @ 700 ml/acre should be sprayed 1-3 days after sowing.
  • In this way, spray can control the weeds that grow in the early sowing stage.
  • Second spraying after sowing: – Metribuzin 70% WP @ 100 gm per acre 3-4 days after sowing or 5 cm growth of potato plant. 
  • Last spray (for narrow leaves) : – 20-30 days after sowing as final spray by spray  Propaquizafop 10% EC or Quizalofop ethyl  5% EC @ 400 ml / acre.
