  • The stem of the plant shows dark brown, depressed lesions which later develop into the downy growth of the fungus.
  • Purplish-brown spots appear on the undersurface of the leaves followed by the appearance of downy growth on such lesions.
  • It causes damage to curd, producing curd-rot.
  • Proper water management should be done so that there is no excess moisture on the soil surface.
