Along with agriculture, farmers also do animal husbandry work. However, due to the death of animals due to drought, floods and diseases, livestock owners have to bear heavy losses. In such a situation, the Madhya Pradesh government is running ‘Pashudhan Bima Yojana’ to address the concerns of the cattle owners. Which is considered as a protective shield for the cattle breeders. The main objective of this scheme is to compensate the livestock owners for the loss due to the death of animals.
This scheme has been implemented in every district of the state. Under this, maximum 5 animals of the beneficiary are insured on premium grant. It includes milch animals and other animals like horse, donkey, rabbit, pig and male cow-buffalo lineage etc. So far more than 48 thousand animals have been insured under the scheme.
In this scheme, there is a provision to provide insurance to the people belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Below Poverty Line at a 70% subsidy. In this, 40% of the grant is from the center and 30% from the state. Apart from this, the general category beneficiaries are insured premium at 50% subsidy. This grant includes an equal share of both the Center and the State. You can also get your animals insured by joining this scheme.
