Government is giving loan up to Rs 20 lakh to open a dairy, know what is the scheme?

Dairy Entrepreneur Development Scheme

Nowadays, farmers are trying their hand not only in farming but also in the dairy business. It is worth noting that a dairy business can be started with less than two cows or buffaloes. In this way, less capital is required to start this business. After starting small, it can be increased gradually. However, seeing the increasing interest of farmers towards the dairy sector, the government is also promoting it through various schemes. NABARD is also running a “Dairy Entrepreneurship Development Scheme” related to the dairy business for youth and farmers. Through this scheme, farmers get financial help to start a dairy business.

Under the Dairy Entrepreneur Development Scheme (DEDS), loans are available for small units related to dairy. Which helps in making them more productive and providing better markets for them. Under this scheme, the person doing animal husbandry gets 33.33% of the total cost of the project as a grant. Along with this, a loan of up to Rs 20 lakh is also given under this scheme for the purchase of milking machines/milk testers/bulk milk cooling units.

Farmers wishing to do dairy business can contact the bank to get a subsidy and loan for this. After this, they will get a subsidized loan from NABARD. Apart from dairy farming, loans are available for animal husbandry, poultry and animal husbandry under the NABARD scheme. If you want, you can also get information about the scheme on the NABARD website https://nabard.org.
